Maya Morsi
President of National Council for Women of Egypt, Egypt
Dr. Maya Morsi was elected as the President of Egypt’s National Council for Women (NCW) on the 1st of February 2016. She is the third and the youngest President of the NCW since its establishment in 2000.
She was awarded “the Woman of the Decade in Public Life and Empowerment” during the Women Economic Forum conveyed in India in 2018, the national award of one of the 100 most influential women in Egypt in the year 2016, and the Women Pioneer from the UAE in 2019.
Before being elected as NCW’s President, Dr. Morsy has been the UNDP’s Gender Regional Advisor (2013 – 2016).
She formerly served as the Head of the Egypt Country Office United Nations Fund for Women (2011- 2013), and as a Country Coordinator/Director of UNIFEM and liaison for the League of Arab States (1999 – 2010).
Barbara Rambousek
Director for Gender and Economic Inclusion at EBRD, UK
Barbara Rambousek is the EBRD’s Director for Gender and Economic Inclusion. She established the Bank’s approach to integrating economic inclusion into the Bank’s mandate, to address inequality challenges through private sector investments and policy engagement. Her focus is on creating equitable access to employment and skills, entrepreneurship, and finance as well as key infrastructure service, reflecting the specific needs of women, youth, aging populations, migrants, and others.
Ms. Rambousek has 20 years of leadership experience in the design and delivery of multi-sectoral inclusive development programs and strategies in Central and Eastern Europe, the MENA region, Asia, and the UK. Previously, as Head of Regeneration and Corporate Strategy for the London Development Agency, she led major urban regeneration programs and the formulation of London’s 20 year Economic Development Strategy. Before that, she managed integrated refugee return and economic development programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ahmed Osman is the Chairman of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB), the world’s oldest and largest nonprofit organization devoted to small businesses internationally. Ahmed is also the Managing Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Network in Egypt (GEN Egypt) and is a Project Management & Strategy Advisor for several Government and Private organizations in Egypt. He holds both a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with Honors and a Masters Degree in Engineering and Management from The University of Birmingham, UK, and is a certified Project Management Professional from The Project Management Institute, USA.
He is also the Founder and CEO is of a Project and Facility Management firm in Egypt – CHROME. The company currently manages a construction portfolio exceeding 1 billion US Dollars. Rania Atef

Rania is the founder of I Make This! A social media platform that she created for women with small businesses to be able to introduce and market their businesses for free. The platform started as a Facebook group which helped over 3000 women introduce their businesses and boost their sales. The group grew to 150k members in less than three months.
Rania is a mother of three children aged 12,7, and 2. Creating the platform was inspired by wanting to support other women like her who are trying to balance their careers/businesses and families by making their marketing easier for them. She worked as a Child and Family Photographer and before that was a full-time researcher working on child rights. She is now becoming an entrepreneur herself and turning I Make This into an e-commerce platform and hoping to support more women boost their sales and expand their small businesses.
Rania has a social research Masters from the London School of Economics. She has lived and worked in Cairo, London, and Moscow.

Susana Balbo

Being a woman of strong convictions, in 2015 Susana decided to turn her experience and knowledge as a businesswoman and an entrepreneur in pursuit of the common good by accepting the proposal of the political party called Pro (then called Cambiemos) to join her team by running for the office of the congresswoman. In the elections of October 2015, she became a National Congresswoman for the political party ‘Cambiemos’ (“Let’s change”), representing the province of Mendoza. In her role as a congresswoman, she served as Vice President of Commission for Small & Medium Businesses, an important project implemented by Mauricio Macri’s new government to create new jobs.
As an entrepreneur and founder of a family business, Susana’s perspective proved a key asset. In 2017, President Macri appointed Susana chair of the Women’s 20 (W20), an international working group of the G20 dedicated to women’s empowerment. In 2018, Susana transitioned from her role in Congress to focus full time on her work with the W20.

Anita is a Dutch trained medical doctor with a passion for cardiothoracic surgery and transplant research. Since 2014 she has been working as a resident in Germany and recently transferred to the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, West German Heart and Vascular Center Essen. She is a non-linear thinker who traveled solo 80.000 km across the globe on a motorcycle. The unpaved lonely roads, especially down South America taught her the most (never ever give up!) The longing for adventure and to look beyond the visible translates to her work. She was in the OR in Canada, England, Pakistan, India, The Netherlands, Germany and Suriname and attended multiple international training. During these rotations she realized something needs to change within healthcare on a global level, especially regarding cardiac care which is only accessible to a tiny percentage of the world. Her curiosity and search for answers resulted in finishing the executive training ‘Leadership for Experts in Medicine and Health Care’ at HHL in collaboration with the Leipzig Heart Center (accredited towards the MBA) in 2019. Eager to further explore the world in 2020, COVID-19 introduced itself.
Nidia Martinez

Nidia Martínez Avellaneda is Director of Climate Risk Analytics for the Climate and Resilience Hub of Willis Towers Watson, based in New York. Nidia currently leads global catastrophe, climate, and analytics initiatives in order to create a complete framework for climate risk assessment that support the evolving need of business, finance and sovereigns, covering all risk considerations which are driving corporate, regulatory, and social response to the climate emergency. Nidia hosts Willis Towers Watson’s podcast Talking Climate and Resilience, which can be accessed here.
Prior to joining Willis Towers Watson, Nidia led the pricing and catastrophe model risk management team at AIG, where she strongly advocated for a healthy risk management culture, particularly important after the firm was de-designated as a systematically important financial institution.
Nidia started her career in the insurance industry at Swiss Re in 2013 as a Natural Catastrophe Expert, where she served as an ambassador for the Latin America and Caribbean underwriting units and client markets, working closely with the pricing tool developers in Zurich and New York. During her time at Swiss Re, Nidia developed Cat models and analytics to quantify the exposure of high-growing markets to earthquake, wind, flood and climate change, which serve to strengthen business, communities and individuals’ financial resilience.

Dr. Yu Ying, Chu graduated from Chang Gung medical school in Taiwan. She is now doing her practice in the trauma division of plastic and reconstructive surgery department in Chang Gung memorial hospital. She started her training in surgical fields of craniofacial trauma, hand trauma, microsurgical reconstruction, congenital deformity, and burn since 2011. Her enthusiasm for craniofacial trauma reconstruction and tissue engineering led her to
join the research team and start to do craniofacial fellowship after residency. Yu-Ying, Chu has won the prize of best oral presentation award in the 4th Congress of Asian Pacific Federation of Societies for Microsurgery,2018. She also got the fellowship sponsored by AOCMF Young Surgeon Professional Development Program. Next year, she will start her PhD program in Tokyo University for further research of tissue engineering.

Prior to law school, Jordyn graduated from the George Washington University with a BBA with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and a minor in Psychology. She then worked as a program manager for the International Council for Small Business (ICSB), where she helped to organize Micro-, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises Day and the annual World Congress. Jordyn is still currently involved with ICSB, acting as a Board Member focusing on youth involvement.

Ieva Zebryte is an academic at the Faculty of Law and Business (FCJE) of the Universidad de La Frontera (UFRO), Chile. She teaches Resilience and Sustainability on undergraduate and graduate levels. Her research interests include: Entrepreneurship and Local Development, Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Globalization and its local impacts, Business and Organizational Resilience. Between 2017 and 2020 she served as the Director for Community Engagement of FCJE-UFRO (http://fcje.ufro.cl/).
Currently, Ieva Zebryte is a PhD in Management student at the ISM – University of Management and Economics (Lithuania). She holds a Master of Law in International and European Community Law from Vilnius University (2005, Lithuania) for which she developed her master’s thesis on the EU’s Emissions Trading System at the Ghent University (Belgium). In 2015 she obtained her Master’s in Local and Regional Human Development at UFRO (Temuco, Chile). Her master’s thesis focused on lifestyle migrants’ experiences in the context of Chilean Northern Patagonia. Finally, in 2016 Ieva obtained a specialty diploma in “Innovation and Territory” from the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, Spain, through the Chilean SUBDERE scholarship.

Dr. Alves served as Dean of the Jay S. Sidhu School of Business and Leadership at Wilkes University from 2011 to 2016, following nearly fifteen years as the Allan P. Kirby, Jr., Distinguished Professor of Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, Chair of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Leadership Studies, and Director of the Allan P. Kirby Center for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. He has held numerous positions in academia and industry during a distinguished career. He is a Sam M. Walton Free Enterprise Fellow and advised the nineteen-time Regional Champion Enactus (formerly Students in Free Enterprise) Team. He was named to the SIFE Hall of Fame for Sam M. Walton Free Enterprise Fellows. Dr. Alves earned his B.S. from the U.S. Air Force Academy, M.B.A. from Southern Illinois University, and Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts. He is the author of numerous books and professional articles related to small business failure, entrepreneurship, small business management, and management and entrepreneurship pedagogy. In addition, he is active on several loan committees and boards of directors. Dr. Ayman El Tarabishy

Dr. Ayman El Tarabishy is the deputy chair and teaching professor of the Department of Management at the George Washing University School of Business. Recognized by the United Nations and the Permanent Mission of Argentina to the United Nations, Dr. El Tarabishy worked to create a United Nations International Name Day to be dedicated to Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs). Dr. El Tarabishy managed to work closely with the Permanent Mission of Argentina to propose a resolution to dedicate a United Nations International Name Day to MSMEs. Approved by the United Nations General Assembly, the proposal was presented by the Permanent Mission of Argentina and 54 countries; thus, 5.5 billion people acted as co-signers of this resolution.
From that day forward, June 27th has been recognized as the official UN MSME Day.
Dr. El Tarabisy is an award-winning author and teacher. In 2019, the George Washington University New Venture Competition awarded Dr. El Tarabishy ‘Most Influential Faculty.’ Additionally, he is the only faculty member in the GW School of Business to teach in two nationally-ranked programs. Having developed the first Social Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Creativity courses offered to MBA and undergraduate students, El Tarabishy is constantly striving to find the perfect balance between tradition and modernization in his teaching pedagogy.

Winslow Sargeant is a managing director with S&T, LLC, an early-stage investment firm specializing in supporting small and innovative companies, based in Great Falls, Virginia. He is the Incoming Chairman for the International Council for Small Business (ICSB). From 2017-2018, Dr. Sargeant was the Senior Vice President for Development at ICSB. From 2010 to 2015, he was the Chief Counsel for Advocacy with the United States (US) Small Business Administration (SBA)Office of Advocacy. Appointed by the President of the United States (POTUS) and confirmed by the US Senate, the Chief Counsel for Advocacy directs the office. The Chief Counsel advances the views, concerns, and interests of small business before Congress, the White House, federal agencies, federal courts, and state policymakers. Economic research, policy analyses, and small business outreach help identify issues of concern. Regional Advocates and an office in Washington, DC, support the Chief Counsel’s efforts. From 2006 to 2009, he was the managing director at Venture Investors, LLC (VI), and early stage venture capital firm, headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin and $200M under management, VI invested in innovative research from leading universities in the upper Midwest. From 2001 to 2005, he was the program manager for the Small Business Innovations Research (SBIR) program Electronics topic in Industrial Innovation, a new office in the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Engineering Directorate. The SBIR program invests more than $100M per year in seed and early stage technology companies.
